This reducing agent-compatible (RAC) version of the Thermo Scientific™ Pierce BCA Protein Assay provides accurate determination of protein concentration in samples that contain dithiothreitol (DTT), 2-mercaptoethanol (BME), TCEP and other disulfide reducing agents.
The BCA Protein Assay Kit – Reducing Agent Compatible (BCA-RAC) provides all of the advantages of the original BCA Assay, plus compatibility with disulfide reducing agents at concentrations routinely used in protein sample buffers. This special adaptation of the popular Pierce BCA Protein Assay method enables accurate protein concentration measurement for samples containing DTT, 2-ME or TCEP. Available in tube and microplate formats, these reducing agent compatible (RAC) BCA Kits extend the already broad reagent compatibility of the BCA Protein Assay protocol to include nearly all types of components commonly present in protein research samples.

Thermo Scientific™ ActivX™ Desthiobiotin-GTP Probe X
ActivX™ Desthiobiotin-GTP Probes contain a modified biotin attached to the nucleotide by a labile acyl-phosphate bond. ActivX active-site enrichment probes are advantageous for determining active enzyme levels through the use of analog-tagged probes to allow profiling of both inactive and active enzymes. The ActivX probes selectively enrich only those enzymes that are functionally active and biologically relevant at the time of labeling. With selective enrichment, one can identify and profile target enzyme classes across samples or can assess the specificity and affinity of enzyme inhibitors.
After removal of GTP or GDP nucleotides from enzymes, the desthiobiotin-GTP probe can be used to covalently modify conserved lysine residues in the GTPase nucleotide-binding site. Desthiobiotin-GTP can selectively enrich, identify and profile target enzyme classes in samples. Pre-incubation of samples with small-molecule inhibitors that compete with active-site probes can be used to determine inhibitor binding affinity and target specificity. The ActivX Desthiobiotin-GTP Probe covalently labels the active site of GTPases and GTPase subunits of G-protein coupled receptors.

Only the desthiobiotin-labeled, active-site peptides are enriched for analysis by LC-MS/MS. Both workflows can be used for determining inhibitor target binding, but only the MS workflow can identify global inhibitor targets and off-targets.

Thermo Scientific™ Pierce Fluoraldehyde (OPA) Reagent is a ready-to-use solution of o-phthalaldehyde, a fluorescent pre- or post-column derivatization reagent for peptide or amino acid detection and quantitation in HPLC.
Fluoraldehyde Reagent contains OPA (o-phthalaldehyde), which reacts with primary amines of amino acids, peptide and proteins to enable fluorescent detection and quantitation. The reagent that can be used as a protein or peptide assay reagent or as a pre- or post-column detection reagent for amino acid analysis (HPLC). Reaction of OPA with proteins and peptides yields linear results over a wide range of concentrations. The Fluoraldehyde Reagent Solution is supplied ready to use and enables fast quantitation of proteins or peptides in solution.

Thermo Scientific™ Glycoprotein Standards Set for Pierce™ Glycoprotein Carbohydrate Estimation Kit
Thermo Scientific™ Pierce Glycoprotein Carbohydrate Estimation Kit enables the amount of protein glycosylation to be measured as the percent of total purified protein mass.
The Glycoprotein Carbohydrate Estimation Kit includes six purified glycoprotein standards and the required assay reagents to effectively estimate the amount of oxidizable glycosylation (% carbohydrate by weight) of purified protein samples. Sugar groups in the glycoprotein sample are first oxidized with sodium meta-periodate to produce detectable aldehyde groups. Then the sample is reacted with the colorimetric Glycoprotein Detection Reagent. Absorbance at 550nm of the resulting purple reaction product is measured with a spectrophotometer or plate reader. Finally, the carbohydrate content in the glycoprotein is calculated by comparison to results from the five glycoprotein standards that are included in the kit.
