Also inhibits cGMP phosphodiesterases. IBMX inhibits cyclic nucleotide PDE with subsequent inhibition of cyclic nucleotide hydrolysis, resulting in accumulation of cyclic AMP and guanosine 3′,5′-cyclic monophosphate.
