Description
1,1,2-Trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane, Reagent, is a chlorofluorocarbon that is very unreactive, and if released will stay in the atmosphere for long periods of time. Also referred to as CFC-113, it was one of the many CFCs that were used as refrigerants, aerosol propellants and cleansing agent for electrical and electronic components. It has today mostly been replaced in laboratory analytics by other solvents but is none the less still used in small doses for some of its unique properties. Its reagent grade means this is the highest quality commercially available for this chemical and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
