Description
2-Deoxy-D-glucose, R1-EAgent (2-DG) is a glucose molecule which acts to inhibit glucose-6-PO4 from glucose at the phosphoglucoisomerase level. It has the 2-hydroxl group that replaces hydrogen which inhibits further glycolysis. 2-DG has been used as a targeted optical imaging agent for fluorescent in vivo imaging. The R1-EAgent grade denotes that this chemical is the highest quality commercially available and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
