8-Anilino-1-naphthalenesulfonic Acid is also known as ANS contains an amine group and a sulfonic acid. 8-Anilino-1-naphthalenesulfonic acid is a fluorescent dye with high affinity towards hydrophobic surfaces of proteins. It is useful for determining the affinity of hydrophobic ligands to their corresponding binding proteins and is used as a probe to monitor protein-folding. Ungraded products supplied by Spectrum are indicative of a grade suitable for general industrial use or res1-EArch purposes and typically are not suitable for human consumption or therapeutic use.
