Behenic Acid, also known as docosanoic acid, is a long chain hydrocarbon carboxylic acid. Behenic acid is isolated from the oil of the Ben-Oil Tree. It is used hair products and conditioners for its smoothing properties, as an anti-foaming agent and as an evaporation retardant in paint removers.
