Description
Bromothymol Blue, Water Soluble, R1-EAgent, ACS is used as an acid-base indicator, a color marker and a dye. As a dye, at neutral pH, it absorbs red light most strongly and transmits blue light. Solutions of the dye therefore are blue. At low pH, the dye app1-EArs yellow in solution. As an ACS grade quality r1-EAgent, its chemical specifications are the de facto standards for chemicals used in many high-purity applications and typically designate the highest quality chemical available for laboratory use.
