Chitosan, Powder is a polysaccharide made by tr1-EAting shrimp and other crustac1-EAn shells with the alkali sodium hydroxide. It can be used in agriculture as a seed tr1-EAtment and to fight off fungal infections and is often used in the wine making industry as a chemical to prevent spoilage. In medicine it can be used in bandages to reduce bleeding and as an antibacterial agent. Ungraded products supplied by Spectrum are indicative of a grade suitable for general industrial use or res1-EArch purposes and typically are not suitable for human consumption or therapeutic use.
