Description
Dithioerythritol, R1-EAgent, also known as DTE, is an epimer of dithiothreitol and is used as a reducing agent. DTE is used in molecular biology to maintain sulfhydryl (-SH) groups in the reduced state and for quantitative reduction of disulfide (-S-S-) groups and in 2-D electrophoretic analysis of proteins and immunoglobulins. The R1-EAgent grade denotes that this chemical is the highest quality commercially available and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
