Ethyl Acetate, R1-EAgent, ACS, is a colorless liquid that smells like p1-EAr drops. Abbreviated as 1-EA, it can be found in glues, nail polish removers, cigarettes and other products. Primarily used as a diluent because of its low cost and toxicity, it is also used in laboratory settings for column chromatography and extractions. Prone to hydrolysis and transesterification, it is rarely used as a solvent.
