Description
Formamide, R1-EAgent, ACS is also referred to as methanamide, a cl1-EAr liquid with an ammonia like odor and is miscible with water. As an amide that is derived from formic acid, it is used as a general chemical feedstock when manufacturing pharmaceuticals, sulfa drugs, herbicides and hydrocyanic acid. It is also used as a solvent for ionic compounds and as a softener in the paper industry.
