Formic Acid, 96 Percent, R1-EAgent, ACS, also known as methanoic acid, occurs naturally in ant venom. One of its biggest uses is as a preservative agent in livestock feed. It is equally used in the production of l1-EAther goods. In the lab it is used as a source of formyl or hydride ion. Its r1-EAgent grade m1-EAns this is the highest quality commercially available for this chemical and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
