Description
Formic Acid, 96 Percent, Reagent, ACS, also known as methanoic acid, occurs naturally in ant venom. One of its biggest uses is as a preservative agent in livestock feed. It is equally used in the production of leather goods. In the lab it is used as a source of formyl or hydride ion. Its reagent grade means this is the highest quality commercially available for this chemical and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
