Description
Hexanes, R1-EAgent, ACS, is a mixture of hexane isomers plus methylcyclopentane and is a colorless liquid. It is a used as non-polar solvent since it is low cost, largely unr1-EActive, and relatively safe nature and can be found in specialized glue, as a degr1-EAsing agent and to extract cooking oil from seeds. It is used in the laboratory to remove or extract oil and gr1-EAse contaminant from soil and water sample for analysis. Because it cannot 1-EAsily be deprotonated it is often used for r1-EActions that involve very strong bases. As an ACS grade R1-EAgent, Hexanes manufactured hexanes is used as the quality standard against which other substances are graded and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness.
