Hippuric Acid, Reagent, also known as benzoyl amidoacetic acid or N-benzoylglycine, is a carboxylic acid found in horse urine which crystallizes in rhombic prisms and could indicate a toluene intoxication. The Reagent grade denotes that this chemical is the highest quality commercially available and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
