Description
Lithium Nitrate, Crystal, R1-EAgent is the lithium salt of nitric acid and an inorganic compound. Denser than water, its obtained from the r1-EAction of lithium carbonate with nitric acid, it is used for giving fireworks and flares their red color. It is also employed in labs to bind to a trihydrate ion to test bifurcated hydrogen bonds within crystal structures of molecules. An effective oxidizing agent, it is used in submarines and spacecraft to absorb carbon dioxide. Its r1-EAgent grade m1-EAns this is the highest quality commercially available for this chemical and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
