Description
Circulating DNA, or cell-free DNA (cfDNA), are fragments of nucleic acids that are released into the bloodstream due to cell death. They carry important genetic information from originating cells, making them valuable material for cancer diagnosis, liquid biopsy, patient organ health, and more.
The MagBeads Fast Circulating DNA Kit is designed to quickly and effectively isolate high-quality cfDNA from cell-free body fluids, such as plasma and serum. Samples are lysed and digested, and the DNA is released into the lysate. After addition of magnetic beads and binding solution, DNA is adsorbed onto the surface of the beads, and proteins, salts, and other cellular impurities are washed away. The eluted DNA is ready for sensitive downstream molecular biology applications, including qPCR, DNA-sequencing, arrays, and DNA-methylation studies.
This kit is versatile and can be used with most automated nucleic acid extraction platforms available in the market. Alternatively, extractions can be performed manually using microcentrifuge tubes (see Cat. No. 115081500 and 115083500) or 96-deep well plates (see Cat. No. 115095050) with a magnetic stand (see Cat. No. 116570413, 116570426, and 116570429).
Performance Data
Figure 1. Comparison of yield and concentration of cfDNA extracted with MagBeads Fast Circulating DNA Kit vs. Competitor A (BB) and B (TF) kits. Results shown are from 200 µL plasma samples from pregnant women at three working temperatures.
Relationship between DNA Amount/Concentration and Sample Volume (extracted using MagBeads Fast Circulating DNA Kit)
Figure 2. cfDNA from five pregnant women’s plasma was extracted using the MagBeads Fast Circulating DNA Kit. DNA from 300 µL, 600 µL, and 1.2 mL sample volumes was eluted with 15 µL elution buffer. Results show a reliable linear relationship between DNA yield/concentration and sample volume.
