Description
MagBeads FastDNA® Kit for Blood is designed to quickly and effectively isolate high-quality genomic DNA (gDNA) from whole blood, lymphocytes, cultured cells, plasma, serum, buffy coat, bone marrow, and other bodily fluids. Samples are lysed and digested with proteases, thus releasing the DNA into the lysate. After addition of magnetic beads and binding solution, DNA is adsorbed onto the surface of the beads, and impurities such as proteins, salts, and other inhibitors are washed away. As a result, extracted gDNA is highly pure and suitable for PCR/qPCR, NGS, and other molecular biology applications.
This kit is versatile and can be used with most automated nucleic acid extraction platforms available in the market. Alternatively, extractions can be performed manually using microcentrifuge tubes (see Cat. No. 115081500 and 115083500) or 96-deep well plates (see Cat. No. 115095050) with a magnetic stand (see Cat. No. 116570413, 116570426, and 116570429).
Performance Data
The MagBeads FastDNA Kit for Blood has been developed to accommodate a wide range of blood samples. The purity of extracted DNA was determined from various blood samples at different temperatures by measuring absorbance ratios (A260/230 and A260/280).
Figure 1. A total of 8 fresh and frozen blood samples were subjected to extraction using the MagBeads FastDNA Kit for Blood. Each extraction used 200 µL of starting material. The results show that temperature does not have a significant effect on purity.
