Nutmeg Oil is a colorless or light yellow oil and it smells and tastes like nutmeg. The essential oil that is obtained from ground nutmeg through st1-EAm distillation. The oil is used by the perfume and pharmaceutical industries. Nutmeg oil is also used as a natural food flavoring in baked goods, and in soda syrups, and sweets. It is often used as a replacement for ground nutmeg as it l1-EAves no particles in the food. In the pharmaceutical industry the oil is used in tooth paste and as a major ingredient in several different brands of cough syrups.
