Description
Perchloric Acid, Ultratrace is an inorganic acid that is usually found as an aqueous solution. Perchloric acid is a stronger acid than sulfuric and nitric acids and it is a powerful oxidizer when heated. At room temperature, it is generally safe at concentrations under 70%. Perchloric acid is used for preparing perchlorate salts and is important in rocket fuel. Perchloric acid should be handled with care, it is dangerously corrosive and readily forms potentially explosive mixtures. Spectrum’s Ultratrace grade products are suitable for use in ultratrace elemental analysis.
