Description
Periodic Acid, also known as Paraperiodic acid or Hydrogen periodate, is the highest oxoacid of iodine. It is used to cleave various 1,2-difunctional compounds; most notably periodic acid will cleave vicinal diols into two aldehyde or ketone fragments. Ungraded products supplied by Spectrum are indicative of a grade suitable for general industrial use or research purposes and typically are not suitable for human consumption or therapeutic use.
