Periodic Acid, also known as Paraperiodic acid or Hydrogen periodate, is the highest oxoacid of iodine. It is used to cl1-EAve various 1,2-difunctional compounds; most notably periodic acid will cl1-EAve vicinal diols into two aldehyde or ketone fragments. Ungraded products supplied by Spectrum are indicative of a grade suitable for general industrial use or res1-EArch purposes and typically are not suitable for human consumption or therapeutic use.
