Potassium Metabisulfite, Crystal, R1-EAgent is also known as potassium pyrosulfite and is primarily used as a chemical sterilant or antioxidant. It is chemically similar to sodium metabisulfite and considered to be a disulfite. The R1-EAgent grade denotes that this chemical is the highest quality commercially available and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
