Description
Standard Grade Regenerated Cellulose (RC) is a clear, flexible and sturdy dialysis membrane with a looser molecular selectivity. This economical membrane is ideal for a broad range of applications in which there is a significant size difference between the MW species being separated; including sample prep, desalting, buffer exchange, pH change, protein purification, etc. Offering a good chemical compatibility, Standard Grade RC can be used with dilute strong acids and bases, concentrated weak acids and bases, most alcohols and some mild or dilute organics, including DMSO. Standard RC can tolerate pH 2 to 12 and temperatures 4 to 121°C.
Spectra/Por® 7 Standard RC tubing is chemically treated to remove any trace levels of heavy metals and sulfide compounds that may be present in dry Spectra/Por® 1-5 and pre-wetted Spectra/Por® 6 Standard RC membranes. Ready-to-use Spectra/Por 7 is also already equilibrated in water and packaged wet in a preservative solution of 0.05% sodium azide. Simply rinse away the preservative solution with DI water, load the sample and dialyze. The tubing is available in 5 m/roll to provide better economy for applications requiring larger amounts of tubing.
