Description
Stat-Pen is an anti-static device that uses positive and negative ions to neutralize electrostatic charges, called static electricity. When Stat-Pen is activated, it neutralizes all static electricity toward which the probe is pointed.
Stat-Pen consists of a neutralizing probe that is connected to a power supply unit. The power supply unit has an On/Off switch on the top. When the switch is on, the power supply unit is in the standby mode. In addition, two red LEDs light up when the power is on. The probe itself looks like a pen that you hold in your hand.
Point the probe toward the object on which you want to neutralize static electricity, and press the microswitch on the probe to activate it. You should hold the probe preferably at a distance of 30 – 50 mm from the object before you activate the microswitch. When the probe is activated, it starts neutralizing at once. You can also see that it is activated just by looking at the two LEDs. When the probe is activated, the LEDs are brighter. As soon as you release the microswitch on the probe, the power supply unit returns to the standby mode and the probe is discharged automatically. When the probe is not in use, it should be kept in the holder on the side of the power supply unit.
