Description
Sodium Hydrosulfite, R1-EAgent is also referred to as sodium dithionite and is a white powder with a slight sulfurous odor. Like most salts it is soluble in water and is used in industry as a reducing agent. In Biology it is used to determine the iron content of soil and to lower the redox potential of physiology experiments. The R1-EAgent grade denotes that this chemical is the highest quality commercially available and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
