SPINeasy DNA Kit for Tissue and Bacteria is a high-performance genomic DNA (gDNA) extraction kit based on silica membrane spin column technology. The kit enables quick isolation of gDNA from various animal tissues, blood, cultured cells, and bacteria, typically in less than 30 minutes. The use of our specially formulated Lysis Buffer GD and Lysing Matrix A in combination with FastPrep instruments from MP Biomedicals enables highly efficient lysis of various tissue types within seconds. The provided Column GD coupled with specially formulated kit buffers are designed to deliver gDNA of high yield and purity with fewer steps, suitable for downstream applications such as restriction digestion, PCR, and NGS.

Convenient and fast isolation of pure DNA

SPINeasy DNA Kit for Tissue & Bacteria is designed with optimal lysis buffers and DNA binding columns for simple, straightforward isolation of genomic DNA (gDNA) from various tissue types and bacteria in less than 30 minutes. The extracted gDNA has the highest purity across different tissue types when compared to competitor kits. The purity of the extracted DNA was determined with spectrophotometric analysis by measuring absorbances at 260 nm and 280 nm and then calculating the ratio of these absorbances (A260/A280). Nucleic acid preparations with an A260/A280 ratio between 1.7- 2.0 is considered “pure”.

Results: The gDNA extracted using SPINeasy DNA Kit for Tissue & Bacteria (with Lysing Matrix) (in blue bars) successfully achieved A260/A280 ratios within 1.7-2.0 across various types of tissues and bacteria.

The purity of the gDNA extracted was also determined using spectrophotometric analysis and calculating the ratio of absorbance at 260 nm and 230 nm. An A260/A230 ratio can help evaluate the level of salt carryover in the purified DNA. For nucleic acid preparations, an A260/A230 ratio of ≥1.0 is ideal. A ratio ≤ 1 may indicate the presence of contaminants, such as organic compounds or chaotropic salts, that co-purified with the DNA. The presence of these impurities may affect downstream enzymatic-based applications, such as PCR or restriction digests.

Results: The gDNA extracted with SPINeasy DNA Kit for Tissue & Bacteria (with Lysing Matrix) (in blue bars) have A260/A230 ratios above 1.0 across the types of tissues and bacteria tested.

Higher yield and integrity of gDNA extracted

Consistent high yields and purity of gDNA were obtained using SPINeasy DNA Kit for Tissue & Bacteria (with Lysing Matrix). The integrity of the extracted gDNA was also assessed by examining the absence of visible shearing or smearing of bands during gel electrophoresis.
