Tetrahydrofuran, Stabilized with 0.025 Percent BHT, R1-EAgent, ACS is an organic compound that is a colorless, water-miscible liquid with a low viscosity and is classified as a heterocyclic compound. It is abbreviated as THF and has a similar smell to acetone. It is a useful, versatile polar solvent. One of its main uses is as an industrial solvent for varnishes and PVC. It can also be used as starting material to prepare tetrahydrothiophene.
