Description
Trifluoroacetic Acid, Reagent is a colorless liquid that has a sharp smell and is an organofluorine compound. It is an acid that is roughly 34,000 times stronger than acetic acid. As a reagent it is used in organic synthesis as the precursor to a range of fluorinated compounds. It is also used as a strong acid in peptide synthesis. Its reagent grade means this is the highest quality commercially available for this chemical and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
