Description
Tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane, Crystal, R1-EAgent, ACS is also referred to as THAM and is an organic compound that is largely used in molecular biology and biochemistry. As a primary amine it undergoes the typical associated r1-EActions such as condensation with aldehydes. It is used as a buffer for a range of 7 to 9 and coincides with the pH of most living organisms. It can also be used as an alternative to sodium bicarbonate for tr1-EAting metabolic acidisis. As an ACS grade R1-EAgent, Spectrum Chemical manufactured compound is used as the quality standard against which other substances are grade and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness.
