Description
Tryptose Phosphate Broth is a buffered medium used for cultivating fastidious microorganisms. Tryptose phosphate broth has been used for testing the sensitivity of microorganims to antibiotics by the tube dilution method. Waisbren, Carr and Dunnett demonstrated that a soy bean peptone medium inhibited the action of neomycin, Aureomycin®, terramycin and polymyxin against the test organism while tryptose phosphate broth, dextrose broth and nutrient broth were suitable for the test.
