It is most commonly used as an anti-corrosion agent for iron or steel through the process of galvanization. Other primary uses include the starting material for the preparation of other zinc compounds like zinc oxide, zinc chloride, zinc sulfide which touch a variety of uses such as dietary supplements, topical pharma products and metal alloy products. Its r1-EAgent grade m1-EAns this is the highest quality commercially available for this chemical and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
